Landscape and nature photography are the specialty of the 36-year old Micha Pawlitzki. He is among the best photographers of Europe. While studying he already set up up his own business. Since then he has published over 70 books and calendars, which have sold over a million copies – most recently in October 2008, the volumes CALIFORNIA (in the series ”Travel Library", recipient of the "Red Dot Award"), LOS ANGELES and VANCOUVER with the fine art publisher Edition Panorama. In addition to that he has published the calendars FLOWERS (Palazzi), DIE KUNST DER KLEINEN DINGE (THE ART OF SMALL THINGS) as well as ORCHIDEENZAUBER (THE MAGIC OF ORCHIDS) (both with Ackermann Art Publishers). The last calendar won the silver medal at the international calendar show in Stuttgart. Micha Pawlitzki works for the world´s three biggest photo agencies – Getty Images, Corbis and Jupiterimages, as well as for Europe´s biggest agency Mauritius Images. His photographs are used in many countries as book and CD covers, on magazines, in daily papers and calendars. Micha Pawlitzki is on the road somewhere on the planet for 4 to 5 months a year. Whether in the extreme winter of Colorado, under the searing heat of Death Valley, in the sandstorms of the deserts of California, on the wild coasts of Ireland or New Zealand or in the urban jungle of Tokyo: Micha Pawlitzki is in search of unusual images, new angles, innovative compositions and the best light. His images show a strong graphic composition and captivate by virtue of their clarity and intensity. They are shaped by a deep fascination for nature and by the wish to implement this vision perfectly on a technical level. Micha Pawlitzki lives and works in Augsburg, Germany with his wife Melanie. |
